Evan's Story
Evan, as maybe Christopher did, loved McDonalds, his order was always,
"cheeseburger, no pickles please..." so on our fourth of July weekend, we like
to serve cheeseburgers, no pickles please for him.

We always called "Evan,
Our precious gift from Heaven." His favorite colors were pink and red and
now when the sky has those beautiful hues we know Evan is in heaven painting
the sky for us.

I hope these pictures and story will give you an
idea of what our "little buddy" was like. "Little Buddy" was his notorious
nick-name.

'The Little Buddy'
Ann,

These are two loving gifts to Angel Evan from my dear friend Carol and her Angel Michael.

Evan loved going up "North", pretending to be the mighty
hunter that his older brothers, dad and mommy are. To know Evan even for a
short moment, one fell in love with him. People would stop us in stores and
say what a beautiful child he is and that he looked like an angel, little
did they know that he soon would become one. His hair was a beautiful
golden-red and he just glowed.

After having a peanut butter ice cream cone with mommy and daddy for a
bedtime snack, he ran downstairs excitedly to see his older sisters as they
were setting up a new aquarium. Earlier in the evening he was outdoors with
his older brothers and daddy doing "guy things" (working in the yard
together). Evan and God chose his time well. Evan, being the youngest of
our children spent quality time with each of us the night he left. About
two weeks before Evan died, he would at random come up to my husband or
myself and say, "Wanna hold me mom? or Wanna hold me dad?" We'd say "of
course Evan" and fold him into our arms... We think Evan had a premonition
of what was to come...

Evan died unexpectedly around 9:00 pm the night of July 6th, 2000 in my arms
with all of his older brothers and sisters near him. He literally climbed
the stairway to heaven touching Nick, Courtney, Drew, Kristen and daddy as
his spirit left his little body that night in my arms. We to this day don't
really have a cause of death as it may have been a seizure so great that
tripped a cardiac arrest in him or vice-versa. Being a nurse, I tried to
resusitate him, was able to bring him back once and then he coded again and
I was not able to bring him back. We live in the country, it took far too
long to get the ambulance here, roads were under construction to get to
town, nothing seemed to go right, it just wasn't meant to be...

Evan impacted our lives so fully in life and still does in "heaven". We
feel him with us all the time. He was pure energy. He led us down another
path, and since his passing, we have another child, Evan's little brother,
Weston that came into our lives. Evan guided us, we are sure of, in our
journey to Ukraine and through the adoption process to bring Weston into our
lives. Evan became a big brother too and he certainly would have liked
that! We had no regrets when Evan died, only that we could have had "One
more Day". He gave so much love and was loved by all that knew him...the
best way he probably would have responded to all of this was "You're
freakin' me out".

The Broken Chain
We did not know that morning that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone, for part of us went with you the day God called you home You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide, and though we cannot see you, you are always by our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, but as GOD calls us one by one, the CHAIN will link again.

Butterflies, VERY significant
to us, as the weekend of July fourth, Kristen, (one of Evan's big sisters
and I went for a walk to the back field) where we had an awesome time
picking white daisys and sitting on a bench back there when an orange and
yellow butterfly was flitting about. We watched this and took several
pictures of Kristen and Evan. They would have been his very last pictures as
he passed away 2 days later. The film didn't wind into the camera, we were
devastated that none of the pictures of that day turned out. When Evan died
on the 6th, I was looking at a vase he had made me for Mother's Day 2000,
upon this vase of which he had colored were little white daisys and orange
butterflies. The vase sits on our fireplace mantle as a constant reminder of
the presence of a greater being in our lives. God and Evan both knew his
time was near. The significance of the butterflies on Mother's Day and then
again on July 4th weekend when he died were far too great to just be a
fluke. This is actually our "butterfly" story and always will be as we see
certain butterflies flitting about, we know Evan is among them...

Evan
in a 6-wheeler with some of his own pumpkins.

Evan liked Pooh and Tigger, and he also like his tractors and little four wheeler. Now he "free
wheels with Jesus."

Always There
Although I am in Heaven...
Remember that for every smile that you make,
I will be smiling with you.
For every tear that you cry,
I will be crying with you.
For every dream you have to reach,
I will be there...to reach it with you.

This pic with all the children was Evan's last Christmas, he
was so happy all the time,
and you can see how much he was the "hub" of our family.

This pic of my husband Steve and Weston are when
they now plant pumpkins for both Evan and Weston up North.

The mention of my child's name
may bring tears to my eyes,
But it never fails to bring music to my ears.
If you are really my friend,
let me hear the music of his name!
It soothes my broken heart and sings to my soul!

Dear Sue and ANGEL Evan
Please don't think of your
ANGEL Evan as gone
He is just away for a while
He has flown his way
Into an unknown land
With that special smile of his
And a wave of his hand
Just open your Eyes and Heart
Through that special star up above
He will be blowing kisses down to you
And sending you all his love
HAVE FAITH SUE
HAPPY HEAVEN DAY ANGEL EVAN
